Many health-related issues can be discovered through a screening of the retina, which is why we are excited to offer retinal photography for patients of all ages!

We use the Optos Imaging System as it is painless, quick and requires no drops! The entire process takes a few minutes.

Through retinal photography,

Drs. Murphy and Tantsits are able to see signs of diseases like hypertension and diabetes as well as vision-threatening diseases like macular degeneration, glaucoma and retinal detachment.

Macular Degeneration Screening

We are proud to be a Center of Macular Degeneration Excellence and were one of the first offices in Saint Louis to offer the AdaptDx to help screen and manage patients at risk for or have age-related macular degeneration.

Although there is no cure for macular degeneration, Drs. Murphy and Tantsits work closely with our patients to monitor and reduce the progression of the disease through diet modification, AREDS2 eye supplementation and regular follow-up visits.

Did you know that Macular Degeneration is the leading cause of blindness in the U.S.?

Macular Pigment Optical Density (MPOD) Measurement

The MPOD measurement is the industry standard and allows

Drs. Murphy and Tantsits to assess for an eye health factor called

macular pigment.

Low macular pigment is a risk factor for age-related eye health complications and can be associated with issues with glare, bright light and night driving.

It also has been beneficial at our practice in demonstrating the effectiveness of eye supplementation.
